“Those Wild West Women”

The audience hushed as the lights dimmed, signaling the start of the Rams Repertory Company’s Nov. 13 and 14 productions of “Those Wild West Women,” written by Tony Howell. Senior Samantha Ribaya, Juniors Michelle Tan and Alec Velazquez and Sophomores Emily Saxon and Joshua Vardoulis took center stage as the leads. Advanced Drama students sold out the $5 pre-sale tickets before the day of the performance.

Canned Food Drive

ASBL members quickly bustled about placing empty boxes around classrooms, kickstarting the annual Canned Food Drive on Nov. 7. ASBL partnered with the food bank People for People to donate all cans to families in need during the holidays. This year, cans will be counted from students’ second period classes, instead of their fourth period, so students can deposit their cans earlier in the day. The winning class will receive a pizza party.

Rummage Sale, Food Truck Convention

The smell of sweet waffles and burgers lingered in the air as a steady hum of chatter and activity drifted throughout the back student parking lot from the Grad Nite Rummage Sale and Food Truck Convention on Nov. 9.

Student organizations such as Aquatics and individual students brought SAT preparation books, DVDs, CDs, furniture and more to fundraise for Grad Nite. Shoppers bought specialty dishes from the Haleiwa Shave Ice, Boba Ni Taco, Lomo Arigato, Paradise Cookies and Ice Cream, Son of a Bun and Waffles de Liege food trucks.
