Pair up for fun and memorable crafts

Instead of the usual dinner and movie for Valentine’s Day, you could show your love in a new way by spending the day making engaging crafts with your special someone.

Collage
Relive your most precious memories with your best friend, boyfriend, girlfriend or family member by making a collage together. The best part of making a collage is that you can basically do whatever you want. Choose pictures for your collage while your partner gathers cardboard, glue,

scissors, a utility knife and tape. First, carefully carve out your partner’s initials from the board with the utility knife and have your partner do the same. Then, cut out the pictures in different shapes, glue them on the board and tape the items on top of the pictures. If you want, you can flip over the cardboard and cut the pictures in the shape of the letter, or you can just leave it sticking out.

Tissue Paper Craft
Don’t let your leftover tissue paper from Christmas morning go to waste. First, cut a piece of cardboard or cardstock into a shape that means something to both of you while your partner cuts different colors of tissue papers into small squares. After that, hole punch a circle at the top middle of the cardboard. Then, dot some glue onto the cardboard while your partner twists tissue paper around the eraser end of a pencil. Then have him or her stick the tissue paper on top of the dotted glue. Repeat until you and your partner cover the entire shape. For the finishing touches, tie a ribbon or a string through the circle at the top of your craft and hang it on a door.

Cardboard House
Although you probably aren’t planning to buy a house right now, creating a dream house with your partner out of cardboard is certainly an option. First, gather as many cardboard boxes as you can. Design the floor plan on a sheet of paper together. Afterwards, cut out pieces of the cardboard for the base of the house. Then, construct the house and to make sure it’s stable, use a hot glue gun to glue the pieces together instead of using regular glue. For a table, cut wooden popsicle sticks in half for the legs and six full sticks for the top of the table. You can cut out pictures from magazines and glue them on the walls of the house for paintings. Also, cut out circles and glue them on the floor for rugs. For the bed sheets and the pillow case, cut out and sew scraps of fabric and stuff the pillow with cotton. If you want stairs, you can cut out small rectangle pieces of cardboard, wrap them in construction paper and glue them horizontally onto a wall in a diagonal line.
