Savers helps customers cut back on cost

My heart caught in my throat as Savers’ grand set of automatic doors opened, revealing a sea of never-ending racks of color. A big red sign reads “superstore” near the entrance, and no doubt, Savers, located in Arcadia, is definitely super.

The store seemed overwhelming at first because it has such a vast variety, and the items seemed to go on forever, but the level of organization and cleanliness in this place creates a high quality experience.

The variety is indeed large, stocked with practical to decorative items. Even though the selection is great, the thrift store is very well organized and sanitary. I browsed through women’s blouses, saw men’s jeans and various assorted mugs, finding each item placed in the correctly labeled spot. Surprisingly, the shelves aren’t crammed with goods or overly crowded. Customers can easily distinguish one product from one another.

Clothing is especially abundant and takes up most of the store, but on the side aisles are collections of antiques, jewelry, mugs, silverware, furniture, kitchenware, handbags and shoes. Sometimes, you will stumble upon products from years ago, like the “Eggstractor” that peels boiled eggs for you.

The prices, of course, are very affordable at Savers. The inventory is mostly all under ten dollars, quite a bargain for the good condition of products in the store. While I perused the shoe section, I happened to spot a wedge heel sandal by Steve Madden that was only $9.99.

Savers can definitely help save more money than at “sales” sections at ordinary shopping centers. I saw a TV that was only $6.99 in the furniture section.

Compared to other thrift shops in the area like Out of the Closet, Goodwill or The Bargain Box, Savers provides a more spacious and inviting feeling. There is really no negative aspect to the store, since it provides people with a great selection and a feeling of being in an actual department store.

There are many employees around that are willing to help and atmosphere in the store isn’t very packed. The name Savers definitely does the store justice since it is a very economical option, so whether or not you are a “thrift shop person,” give it a try because you never know what you can find.
