Cook up thrills on the grill

Autumn is nearing, which means that we have the perfect weather for backyard barbeques.

Asian Barbeque
Ingredients
Asian BBQ sauce/shacha sauce
Soy paste or soy sauce
Sriracha chili

To maintain the correct flavor of the sauce, simply mix a 2:2:1 ratio of the shacha, soy paste, and Sriracha respectively. Take a fork to scoop the shacha sauce, which partially sifts out the oil. Then, approximate the same amount of soy paste. Instead of soy paste, you can use soy sauce if you prefer a thinner sauce. You can also mix both to reach the consistency desired. Finally, the Sriracha should be about half the amount of each sauce just added. If you relish the heat and flavor of Sriracha, add it in the same ratio as the other sauces.

This barbeque sauce perfectly harmonizes with corn as well as Korean fish cakes, available at any Korean supermarket. Apply as you cook, placing the corn or fish cake on the grill and then using a brush to apply the sauce liberally. After flipping the food, reapply to the other side and cook until it is ready.

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles
Ingredients
1 bunch of asparagus
1 16 oz. pack of bacon
Extra virgin olive oil

Trim the woody ends off of the asparagus and drizzle it with extra virgin olive oil. Take four spears of asparagus and wrap them together with two to three slices of bacon. Make sure that the bundles are tightly wrapped and use a toothpick to secure them if needed.

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and grill the bundles on direct heat. Cook for 15-17 minutes, turning occasionally, or until the bacon is crisp.

Marinated Rib Eye Steaks
Ingredients
2 one-inch thick rib eye steaks
2 garlic cloves
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
½ cup olive oil
¼ cup apple juice
¼ cup pineapple juice
¼ cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons dried basil leaves

Pour and mix all of the ingredients into a gallon sized resealable zipper storage bag. Place the steaks in the marinade and refrigerate overnight. About 20 minutes before grilling, let the steaks sit at room temperature.
Heat your grill to high and brush some cooking oil on the grill rack. Place the steaks on the grill and let the steaks sear for about four minutes. Turn the steaks over and grill for another four minutes for medium rare or for six more minutes for medium.
