Yearbook Awarded At Summer Camp

Applause rang throughout the Yearbooks @ the Beach camp auditorium on Aug. 6 as Templar yearbook staff received the You Rockwell Award for creating the best theme packet for their overall spread.
After five days of work in which camp attendees developed each of their ideas and material, staff members received three awards in design, managing and coverage.
Over five hundred students from 44 schools in the nation participated, with Templar receiving honors in top categories. Senior Editor-in-chief Priscilla Chong earned the Best Individual Designer award, in addition to the three awards earned by the entire team.

New Staff Starts School
The first day of school on Aug. 27 welcomed new teachers: Science Teacher Mr. Viggen Avedissian, Woodshop Teacher Mr. Elias Bourjeili, Special Education Teacher Ms. Alexis Heere, Science Teacher Ms. Angie Huang, Art Teacher Ms. Lisa Kidd, Social Science Teacher Ms. Robyn Selders, English Teacher Ms. Lynn Uwanawich and counselor Mr. Cary Smith to the campus as well as psychologist Mr. Ray Hensley and ELD Coordinator Ms. Zoreh Wong.
Former Science Teacher Mr. Evan Dagger has begun a new RAMS Program, in which students will be split up into classes wtih different teachers based on the individual subjects they are weak in.

AP Physics Classes Conduct Pool Lab
Water splashed on the decks of the pool as AP Physics 1 students took part in their first lab of the year on the third day of the school.
Classes applied their knowledge of optics while also having fun in the pool. Physics Teacher Mr. Kevin Slattery has been doing this pool lab for over 15 years, and would like to continue it. He believes this pool lab successfully combines fun and a lab experience for his students.
