“I really only play my ukulele during church meetings or when I sing hymns so I view my ukulele in association with Christianity because whenever I play it, I am singing a prayer or helping others to overflow, which is the term that describes spreading enjoyment during meetings. When people who are bored in church notice how others are enjoying their time, they are able to feed off of that enjoyment and experience it themselves.”

“I used to wear this gold necklace every day when I was a child. It had a little turtle on the end of it. The ‘real’ Buddha, or Siddhartha, was the man of self-discovery who figured out the cause of suffering was due to want, so slowly, he ate a grain of rice and a drop of water day by day to enlighten himself and that’s what the turtle represents: the slow journey.
