Mission Kimpossible: Not my type of treat

Personally, the idea of Halloween hasn’t really been that enticing for me as I’ve grown up. Now don’t get me wrong, creating a costume for both Rampage and ASBL never fails to put a smile on my face, but other than that, I don’t really find anything particularly exciting in celebrating the holiday.
During this spooky season, one can usually expect a more premieres of horror movies, and this year is no exception. Unfortunately for me, this means another year of enduring the incessant stream of advertisements that promote the newest frightful flick. which constantly sport the obnoxiously ominous music that begins to play and the trademark semi-deep voice of the announcer that provides the classic five W’s and H of the movie.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve scrolled by the promo video for “Happy Death Day” on my Facebook feed, only to have the same trailer play while I’m in the middle of watching a video. Call me petty but I prefer watching my videos uninterrupted, thank you very much.
Another Halloween trend that ceases to intrigue me is trick-or-treating. I personally think that I’m too old to be going around asking strangers for handfuls of candy. Everyone else that goes trick-or-treating is usually younger than me by a minimum of five years, and half the candy I receive ends up being Twizzlers anyways. Gross. Also, I cannot fathom why anyone would purchase large quantities of candy so they could intentionally disperse them to uninvited guests, when they could be eating those delectable delights themselves. Trick or treat? More like trick or treat yourself.
I guess you can say that I’m in limbo about Halloween: it’s just another holiday I have to get through until Christmas arrives.
