Students often find themselves in need of a nice place to destress, study or just hang out with friends. While on the lookout for a peaceful atmosphere that fits all those needs, here are a few places to check out!

Cloverleaf

Cloverleaf is a bakery on the corner of Las Tunas Drive and Cloverly Avenue. It features indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are quite roomy and provide a lot of space. Unfortunately, the bakery typically closes at 5 p.m., which may be too close to the end of the school day for some.

The bakery’s wide menu provides many different options. Combined with the spaciousness of their cafe, Cloverleaf makes for an enjoyable place to relax with friends.

The atmosphere is pleasant, with a quiet ambiance that may benefit people looking for a place to study. The wide variety of food and drink options on their menu is also an added bonus, and ASB cardholders are eligible for a 10% discount on their order.

AU79

AU79 Teahouse in the Vons plaza on Naomi Avenue offers outdoor seating options and an extensive menu.

As the outdoor seating is next to the parking lot, bursts of noises from passing cars occasionally puncture the calm atmosphere. However, the welcoming staff will actually bring your order to you if you sit outside, and ASB Card holders also receive a 10% discount.

AU79 is a nice area to hang out with friends if you don’t mind sitting outside, as there is no current indoor seating option due to COVID-19  restrictions. Their excellent quality drinks are worth the price, while the food is made fresh to order and comes out steaming hot. Overall, AU79 provides a great experience, whether you are hanging with friends or just studying alone.

Boba Express

Boba Express is a small boba shop on Las Tunas Drive. Though easy to miss, it’s a great place to hang out with friends, as it features indoor seating options and a nice and quiet atmosphere.

The back of the store is where the majority of seating options are, and they include plenty of space to hang out with friends. Boba Express offers a variety of food and snacks to choose from along with their wide boba menu, so it’s a great place to go for refreshments.

As an added bonus, the staff are very friendly, and ASB card holders can receive a 10% discount on their order. Boba Express provides a relaxing area to pass time with friends. Additionally, the store’s quiet nature lends itself well to those who want a nice place to study.

Half and Half

Half and Half is located in the CVS plaza on Naomi Avenue. Though small, the boba shop is inviting and popular, which is no surprise considering the quality of its boba.

The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, but the store itself can become crowded fairly quickly and many customers end up waiting outside while the staff prepares their orders.

Due to Half and Half’s small size, it isn’t the greatest place to hang out with friends. Its only indoor seating options resemble a waiting area and have no tables. However, if a good cup of boba is what you need to put your mind at rest, then Half and Half definitely makes the list.
