Moving on to the next level with underclassmen

“Going to the next level to me is sort of a checkpoint for what you might be doing. It usually takes effort to get to that spot, and once you get there you feel good but you still want to make it to the next level. The most important next level for me would probably be to get through high school with decent grades. I am fairly confident I could pass these levels at the rate I’m going now and I am not overly nervous about them.”

—Freshman Johnathan Ascanio

“Since my cousin and dad have been a huge inspiration to me, my next level is to have a big improvement in my art because I want to pursue a career in it like them. As of right now, I have a huge lack of motivation to draw, so I plan on making myself draw every day. I plan to continue this and hope to begin bigger pieces of studies when I have time to improve my understanding of certain topics and overall art.”

—Sophomore Kaylen Hayashida

“I think going to the next level means learning from your past mistakes and bettering yourself and maturing. I think this applies to me in a lot of things like my grades, my classes or the sports that I’m doing. When track season comes up, I’m going to try making varsity so I guess that’s like one of my plans, and I’m excited for that.”
