Hwachae

Hwachae is a popular punch drink, originating in South Korea, but you can make it yourself in less than 20 minutes.

For a standard serving, you’ll need:

14 oz of drained fruit cocktail

12 oz of a carbonated drink (Sprite, 7Up, etc.)

14 oz of fruit-flavored milk

1 cup of ice cubes

Large bowl

Knife

Instructions:

  1. Safely chop your seedless watermelon and added fruits into small cubes until you have the mentioned amount, then place them into the large bowl.
  2. Pour fruit-flavored milk all over the fruit along with the ice. Stir thoroughly.
  3. Pour carbonated drink and stir gently to combine.
  4. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator

Savoring this refreshing drink with your favorite fruits will definitely sweeten up the spring season.

Tanghulu

Tanghulu is a very delicious and popular Chinese treat resonating with many candy and fruit lovers— fruits covered in a crunchy, sugary candy layer, stacked on a skewer.

This treat takes only 15 minutes to create and needs just a few ingredients:

1 cup of granulated sugar

½ cup of water

½ fruits of choice (strawberries, grapes, etc.)

A bowl of iced water

Wooden skewers

Thermometer (optional)

A medium sized pot

Instructions:

  1. Insert washed fruits centered on the skewers. Make sure they are steadily positioned to prevent fruits falling out during the process.
  2. In a medium-sized pot, pour your water and sugar, bringing it to a boil of 300 degrees. This will take around 5-10 minutes.
  3. Dip fruit skewers into the pot, coating every side of the fruits. Shake off any excess sugar.
  4. Immediately dip your skewers into the ice bowl so the hot syrup hardens.
  5. Allow the tanghulu to cool on a plate.
  6. Serve.
