Pep Nationals

Cheer, Song and Pep Flags will be at the United Spirit Association Preliminaries at the Anaheim Convention Center on March 20. To qualify for the second day on March 23, they will need to be in the top 30% of all finalists to move on to nationals and then hopefully, Worlds in Florida.
“One of my main goals is to make it to the second day of nationals,” JV Co-captain Sophomore Mercylia Susantono said. “I’m really proud of us because we went through so many challenges and yet we still have the privilege to go to nationals.”

No Cost for Printing

Students are no longer required to pay for printing in the Mac and PC labs, as of Dec. 19. Principal Ms. Mary Jo Fosselman-King made the decision because hooking the printers up to the payment system and the constant maintenance was time-consuming.

Thanks to the school’s current budget flexibility, students no longer need to worry about paying the 10-25 cents per copy as long as they print only what is necessary. The system is not expected to return in the near future.

Camellia Festival

TC Park will come to life with the annual Camellia Festival and Parade from Feb. 20-22. The parade will commence at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, featuring the Pride of Temple City, Pep squad, Brighter Side Singers, Australian Exchange Students, Miss Temple City and her royal court, American Cancer Society and Relay for Life’s Float “Celebrating More Birthdays” and the newly added 2015 Rose Parade Royal Court members.
Favorite foods and activities will also be making comebacks such as the LIFE Club’s snow cone booth, ASBL’s football throw and Boy Scout Troop #161’s famous funnel cakes.

Fun Food Friday

Despite the chance of rain, Sophomore Amanda Lam advertised the brand new Inline Skating Club’s BBQ pork buns this Fun Food Friday on Jan. 30. Clubs sold food during RAMS and lunch, bringing back favorites like In-N-Out burgers, spring rolls, fruit tarts, fruit smoothies and Di Pilla’s pasta. The next Fun Food Friday will be on May 1.
