Set up a workspace for the school year

At the start of a new school year, setting a workspace that fits both one’s personality and work habits can be extremely beneficial.

Cable walls

Technological devices expose your workstation to cluttered wires and cables. However, making cable wall art can get messy wires out of your way. Outline a pattern on your workstation wall that you want to decorate. After that, put the wires and cables over the patterns and stick them to the wall with clear duct tape. Make sure the pattern includes sharp corners, as round patterns are more prone to falling apart.

Wall art

Decoration in the workplace can be distracting, especially if it’s too bright or colorful. Wall art with a black and white color scheme can add a nice touch without being over stimulating and distracting. Not only does it require little to no artistic skill, it is also faster than painting with proportions. Use a projector to cast a black and white picture of your choice on the wall. If you don’t have a projector, use a mock-up cutout of the picture you want and cast a shadow of it on the wall with a flashlight. This should cast a negative spaced picture which should make tracing easier. Outline the projection with a pen, and paint the picture by following the lines.
