New Year, New Hopes

By Thomas Wong, Staff Writer

“I’m hopeful for 2021 since this year I’ll finally be able to finish my coding project. I am currently an intern working to create a mobile app for the nonprofit Love in Motion so people can easily donate to it. I’m excited to be in the final stages. Here’s to a better year than last!”

“Some new additions to my life include Inner Spark Club, succulents and cooking. I want to work on my club and really focus on it this year. I also developed a new hobby: gardening. I have over 40 succulent plants in my backyard and I even opened a small business for them, which I plan to build on. This is just so I can share my love for succulents with everyone and also because I would like to help my family earn some money.”

“There’s been good and bad aspects of COVID-19. It’s given me the chance to spend tons of time with my grandmother, who taught me to sew and make clothes. In 2021 I’m hopeful that even though COVID will have stretched for almost a year now, that means being in this situation will open people’s eyes and people will start to realize the effects of their actions and get smarter in terms of doing what’s right to keep people safe.”
