Season Results

Track
Junior Karlly Feng qualified for State in the pole vault competition. The Boys Varsity Track team won second place in the Rio Hondo League with a 4-1 record. The team finished South Pasadena. The Girls Varsity Track team finished with a 1-1-3 record. The boys 4×400 relay team placed third at league finals. The girl’s varsity team had mostly underclassmen and will hopefully contend for the league championship next season if the younger athletes return to the team.

Boys Volleyball
The Boys Varsity Volleyball team finished third in the Rio Hondo League, but lost in the first round of the C.I.F. playoffs to Canyon High School by a score of 3-1 on May 12. The team went 3-5 in league and 12-11 overall. Only two seniors are graduating this year and the returning members are planning to use their experience and hope to win a league title next year. They are planning to do off season practices to be more prepared for the upcoming season.

Girls Softball
The Girls Varsity Softball team finished third in the Rio Hondo League this season and qualified for the C.I.F. playoffs. The Lady Rams were eliminated in the first round after losing to Torrance by a score of 6-1 on May 21. The team gave up three quick runs in the first inning and three more in the fourth and could not dig themselves out of that hole. They team went 7-4 in league and were 9-12 overall.

Boys Tennis
The Boys Varsity Tennis team placed third in the Rio Hondo League. In the first round of C.I.F. playoffs against Palm Desert High School, which played San Marino in last year’s C.I.F. finals, they lost 2-16 to end their season. The team performed 3-5 in league and 13-8 overall. Coach Nate Slaymaker plans to organize a USTA youth tennis team for the remaining Varsity players to get playing time, compete with other schools and improve over the summer.

Golf
The Varsity Golf Team finished their season with an overall record of 5-11. The team consists of eight members, none of whom are seniors. With a young team, Coach Takashita sees the members improving all the time. He hopes that all the members will return next year for a better and more competitive season. The members are expected to practice on their own over the summer.

Swim
The Varsity Swim Team finished the season in fourth place in league. The swimmers had to adapt to first year head coach Oscar Dorado and his coaching style. The team plans to improve their standings by swimming year round and staying in shape during the summer.
