Community members and students attended TCHS Rampage’s TCUSD School Board Candidates Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in room 601. The forum featured Mr. Vinson Bell, Ms. Donna Georgino, Ms. Louise Huff, Mr. Mike Lin, Mr. Joe Pacilio, Mr. Greg Rodriguez, Mr. Matt Smith and Ms. Cindy Vance.
Sophomores Jackie Sun and Kailyn Huang, Rampage staff writers, moderated the event and asked the eight candidates approximately 10-12 questions that were submitted through Google Forms. Each candidate had one minute per opening and closing statement and two minutes to answer each question. The candidates addressed various topics, ranging from a possible continuation of the German program to their individual takes on the role of the school board.
“Everybody had great answers to all the great questions, and I loved how they all had the same idea of bringing the community together, and they want to go forward for the students,” La Rosa Elementary School librarian Ms. Dee Moreno said. “I am very excited about all the candidates that are running.”
