Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: “I love playing music (flute), it makes me feel calm and confident! I’ve been playing the flute for about six years now. My mom is a strings teacher and most of my family play string instruments, so I thought I’d do something different.”
Q: How do you represent compassion?
A: “I always try to encourage my friends to have a positive side with them. I once comforted one of my friends who experienced a tremendous amount of stress, and I was glad that I was able to calm her down.”

Q: In what ways do you show ambition?
A: “High school has helped shape me to not be afraid of failure. I will join and sign up for everything without thinking about what I’ll lose, but rather what I will get out of it. I will work extra hard at something I really want until I get it, even if it is near impossible! I love to aim high, even if it is not realistic, as motivation to be the best I can be.”
Q: Who is your favorite Alice in Wonderland character?
A: “My favorite Alice in Wonderland character would probably be Cheshire Cat or Mad Hatter. Cheshire Cat has such an iconic smile and is one of the few characters that were nice to Alice! The Mad Hatter is an extremely charismatic character, so almost everyone loves him.”

Q: What are you looking forward to the most at the Homecoming dance?
A: “Since it’s senior year, I am pretty excited for this being my last homecoming. I love that I’m able to be a part of the Homecoming Princess court, since it’s been a shocking and exciting experience so far. I never thought I would be doing this my last year of high school. While, I can’t wait to see the food that’s going to be there, because I have always seen those little desserts that Alice eats and thought they looked really good.”
Q: What are some of your recreational activities this year?
A: “I recently got a puppy, so I spend time with him by just letting him take naps on me while I do my homework, which encourages me to stay in the same spot and finish my assignments. At school, I am the vice president of Labors of Love, the assistant tuba section leader for band and I recently joined Dragon Flicks and Link Crew. Outside of school, I volunteer at the Huntington Hospital and City of Hope.”

Q: How do you show spirit at school?
A: “I show school spirit by participating in spirit weeks or wearing daydress from Choreo and Song. The clothes from daydress always include TCHS in some way, and it’s a great way to bring attention to football games or any upcoming performances and assemblies.”
Q: What are you looking forward to the most at the Homecoming dance?
A: “I’m looking forward to the music and dancing with my friends. Overall, I just want to have a good and memorable time, especially since the morning of is ACT testing.”

Q: What are some of your recreational activities this year?
A: “One of the activities I’m involved in at school is Choreo, during which I love being with all my teammates and how they make me smile. I am also in Girl Scouts, and I enjoy camping with my troops as well as making meals in Dutch ovens. Another activity I’m involved in is the Children’s Theatre company, which I like spending time with the other teens in the program.”
Q: Who is your favorite Alice in Wonderland character?
A: “My favorite character would have to be the Cheshire Cat, since I feel the character plays a mysterious role in both the movie and the book. I like that his role is very mischievous and that he symbolizes that there is always more to a story if you read between the lines.”
